The Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
(IMfgE) department at WSU offers two undergraduate degree
programs, one in industrial engineering
(BSIE) and another in manufacturing
engineering (BSMfgE).

Industrial Engineering (IE)
Program Objectives:
- A majority
of graduates will be employed in jobs related to design,
implementation and improvement of systems in manufacturing and
service sectors. These will include jobs in quality engineering,
facilities management, man-machine systems, simulation, project
planning, inventory management, ergonomics and optimization.
- Some of the
graduates will pursue graduate studies in engineering or business.
- Graduates
will enjoy professional success because of the program's emphasis
on solving real world problems in industries and organizations in
the metropolitan area.
Manufacturing
Engineering (MfgE) Program Objectives:
- A majority
of graduates will be employed in jobs related to design, planning
and control, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing
processes.
- Some of the
graduates will pursue graduate studies in engineering or business.
- Graduates
will enjoy professional success because of the program's emphasis
on solving real world problems in industries and organizations in
the metropolitan area.
